Our Patron, 2017
Ryan Evans - Professional Golfer

Ryan Evans is a Professional golfer, who turned pro in 2014 and qualified for the challenge tour after receiving five invitational starts. As an amateur with a +5 handicap he reached sixth in the world amateur rankings and represented England Golf in tournaments all over the world.
2015 was a solid season for Ryan on the Challenge Tour finishing 28th which meant he had to earn his full European Tour card the hard way. Ryan qualified through the Tour School at PGA Catalunya where he won his 2016 tour card after playing the last two rounds in seven under par.
Ryan is well equipped for life on the European Tour, having made the cut in each of the events he has played in during 2016. This includes a 3rd in the Czech Masters, his best result to date, and a very credible performance achieving 58th in his first major the Open at Royal Troon.
Ryan was a good footballer in his youth until a broken leg put him out of the game for nine months. Instead of playing on, his father took him to a local driving range and he was soon hooked.
In 2013 Ryan was the first person to be supported by The Travers Foundation when he was an amateur. Today we are delighted to see the progress he has made and are thrilled to welcome him back to the Foundation as our first Patron for 2017 year. We wish Ryan all the best for his future golfing career.
