LUCY HATTON - hurdling to European silver!
Hurdler, Coaching and Competition support 2015-6
"It's fantastic that The Travers Foundation have helped me. My TeamGB experience has been incredible and to come away from the European Indoor Championships with three personal bests and a silver medal is outstanding.”

Lucy Hatton, 21, the European silver medallist hurdler from Kettering, is working back to full fitness, aiming for the World Championships in 2017 and the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
She won the silver medal at the European Indoor Championships in Prague in 2015, and achieved three personal bests.
Of her future plans, Lucy says: "This coming season I'm looking to go into hard winter training with my new set up that began at the end of the 2016 season. We will be mainly aiming for the World Championships, and I am aiming to run consistently under 13 seconds. There is also the European Indoors, another major competition to be aiming for.
"With the support of The Travers Foundation I became silver medallist in 2015, my biggest accomplishment so far."
Lucy receives financial support from The Travers Foundation to help with the costs of her coaching and travelling from Leicester - where she is based while completing her degree in Criminology at the University of Leicester - to the Sheffield EIS training facility.
Lucy acknowledges the support she has received from The Travers Foundation:
"The Travers Foundation have followed and supported my biggest accomplishments to date.
"In 2015 I came second at the indoor British championships, following that I became European silver medallist, I am the third fastest 60m British hurdler in history, which makes me incredibly proud.
"Sadly I gained an injury going into 2015 outdoor season but I did run a personal best of 12.8 seconds which ranked me top 20-25 in the world.
"In 2016, in the indoor season I came third at the British trials. I was selected to be on the GB team for the 100m hurdles at the Europeans, which sadly did not go to plan. I came third at the British trials for the Olympics and was 0.2 seconds off the qualifying time to make the Olympic team.
"This season has been very difficult for me with a lot of change, but I'm now working towards improvement and I'm excited to be in a new training group and environment, working towards 2017 being stronger and better."
