Support is growing for a showcase in search of the region’s best young performing artists.
ECS Group is the latest business to back Travers Rising Stars, a free-to-enter challenge for any bands, singing groups or solo artists between the ages of 13 and 30 who live or study in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire or Rutland.
The winner’s package includes recording studio time and a chance to perform live on stage at Glastonblaby, the annual festival which supports charities including the contest organisers, The Travers Foundation.
It is not the first time the Corby-based business has backed the volunteer-run charity which gives financial support to local 13 to 30-year-olds in the region to help them realise their dreams in sport, music and the arts.
ECS Group CEO Peter McGowan, said: “We are thrilled to once again sponsor a Travers Foundation event. We recognise that so many young people have been hit incredibly hard by the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, and it has been devastating for all those people involved in live events and festivals. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to support local talented performing artists and we look forward to being involved in Travers Rising Stars this year.”
The Travers Foundation want to reach out to help more young men and women who need support to find opportunities in the music industries. Further sponsorship opportunities are still available.
Kieran Forsey from The Travers Foundation said: “We welcome the support of businesses like ECS Group who can help us to make a real difference to the lives of young people. Travers Rising Stars will give a new young band or artist the chance to secure a slot at a local festival when, hopefully, things are back to normal.
“Auditions will be in the form of an unedited video no longer than ten minutes which will be reviewed by the judging panel and the best will go forward to a LIVE FINAL in Leicester. The winners will be invited to perform on stage at Glastonblaby 2021 as well as taking a way a host of other prizes, including valuable studio time.”
