Ryan said “I didn’t really sleep much last night (Tuesday) because my phone was going crazy and all the messages I was getting saying congratulations was a bit overwhelming,” the 29-year-old said.
“It’s huge for me. Growing up, you are with your mates on the putting green pretending to hole putts to win The Open and now I am in it.
“I played brilliantly yesterday. I had one bad shot all day and that led to a double bogey when I got a bit unlucky on the 16th.
“But I hit the ball great all day and holed a lot of decent putts as well.
“It hasn’t really been there all season to be honest but for it to finally all come together at such a crucial time was great.”
We will all be following Ryan's progress and wish is the very best of luck.
