TRAVERS FOUNDATION MUSIC AND DANCE EVENT AT CORBY CORE THEATRE
A black tie dinner at Corby's Core Theatre - hosted by local charity The Travers Foundation - was held on Saturday 7th March.
This prestigious event was a fundraiser, but also an opportunity to showcase the talented youngsters supported by the charity in the performance, music and dance genres.
The Travers Foundation helps 13 to 30 year olds living in Northamptonshire, Rutland or Leicestershire improve their skills in sports, the creative arts and the performing arts.
Artistes performing included Meg Lyons - who has been selected to study for an intensive masterclass at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute of method acting in Los Angeles - her sister Beth Lyons, The Core Dancers, and singers Vicki-Louise Sherwin and Charlie Botting.
Corby-based Quantum Printers donated the programme which was supported by advertisements from 18 local companies, and the total amount raised for the charity was £2500.
Terry Forsey from The Travers Foundation said: "We are delighted that this event was such a success. It was brilliant to see the young people the charity are assisting, performing at the Core Theatre - the standards were high, and it was a very enjoyable evening. We are hoping to make it an annual event."
