CHARITY EVENT AT THE CORBY CUBE HELPED BY SANTANDER - & A SELL OUT
The Travers Foundation Young Stars Showcase fundraising evening will be held at the Corby Cube on Saturday 5th March, 2016.
The Northamptonshire-based charity helps 13 to 30 year olds living in Northamptonshire, Rutland or Leicestershire improve their skills in sports, the creative arts and the performing arts.
The black-tie dinner and showcase event will feature some of the talented youngsters the charity has assisted, and confirmed attendees include athlete Lucy Hatton - European Silver Medallist in Hurdling and Rio 2016 Olympic-hopeful - the Corby Core Actors and Dancers, plus well-known local vocalists Vicki-Louise Sherwin, Charlie Botting, Kara Hamer and Meg Lyons.
Kayleigh O'Connor, a local filmmaker, will be showing her new short film EQ: A Film About Emotional Intelligence.
This annual event, now in its second year, sold out within two days of tickets going on sale. It will be hosted by local Opera Impresario Martin McEvoy, who is a Trustee of the charity.
Neil Bray, the Branch Manager of Corby's Santander branch, and his team are getting involved by organising the silent raffle taking place on the evening and are prominently displaying information about the charity in the bank.
Neil and his Santander team are very dedicated to helping local charities - not only do they offer financial assistance, they also offer practical help with events. Neil's father is Russ 'Voice of Darts' Bray who has kindly donated a signed dartboard and photographs to be part of the silent auction.
Martin McEvoy of the Travers Foundation said:
